What do you think of your Housing Service?

This autumn we will be asking all tenants to complete an important survey to find out how satisfied you are with your home and the Housing Service

The questionnaire, which will become an annual fixture, is one of the ways that we are responding to new government guidelines on assessing and reacting to tenant satisfaction levels.

The government has introduced a set of 22 tenant satisfaction measures that all councils and housing associations must report on. The measures have been introduced so that tenants can see how well their landlord is doing at providing good quality homes and services, and where improvements are needed. The different measures cover areas including:

  • Homes in good repair
  • Maintaining building safety
  • Respectful and helpful engagement
  • Effective handling of complaints
  • Responsible neighbourhood management

Along with other social housing landlords we must collect certain data and publish the results by next summer. Of the 22 different tenant satisfaction measures, 12 will be assessed by your responses to the upcoming survey and the other 10 will be statistics on our performance relating to:

  • The Decent Homes Standard
  • Repairs completed within target timescale
  • The number of gas, fire, asbestos, water and lift safety checks completed
  • Complaints and antisocial behaviour cases

We will let you know later this year when we will be carrying out the autumn survey and how you can view the results, and compare us to other landlords. Your feedback is critical in enabling us to respond to the government.

As well as completing the survey, there are lots of other ways for you to tell us what you think of the Housing Service, and to work with us to help make improvements. Simply get in touch with our Tenant Engagement team to discover the range of ways that you can get involved and make your voice heard, from answering a quick phone survey to joining a regular group or panel. Your input really can make a difference to the service that you and your neighbours receive.
