Southampton City Council’s employment and skills support service unveils exciting rebrand; introducing GROW People

Southampton’s one stop shop for employment and skills support, Access Southampton, is rebranding to GROW People as part of a move into the council’s GROW portal, where businesses, investors and now residents can access tailored support to achieve their individual goals and foster sustainable growth within the city and its communities

From Tuesday 27 February visitors to Access Southampton will be automatically redirected to GROW People where they will be able to access the support, guidance, or information they are looking for.

The new webpages, seamlessly integrated with the rebrand, offer an enhanced user experience, featuring more intuitive navigation and a wealth of resources, support, and information to assist job seekers, career movers and employers.

GROW People will help to empower residents in need of support, nurturing their skills and talents and encouraging personal and professional development. We believe that anyone can achieve work, regardless of their disability or disadvantage, provided that the right support is given in the right place and at the right time.

The unveiling of GROW People marks an exciting new chapter for the council’s employment and skills service, reinforcing its over 30-year commitment to shaping a vibrant, resilient, and healthy working community.

In that time, we’ve helped over 10,000 Southampton residents, with around 3,300 entering into meaningful paid employment, another 4,000 having completed training courses, gained new qualifications or started college or university, and 2,500 having completed voluntary or work experience placements and we are looking forward to continuing our collaboration with residents and businesses in creating a prosperous future under the GROW People banner.

Councillor Sarah Bogle, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said:

“The transition from Access Southampton to GROW People symbolises our commitment to cultivating a thriving and empowered community. We believe that by supporting people with impartial careers guidance, we can help them realise their ambitions and contribute to the overall well-being and success of Southampton.”
