    Additional Information

“Councillor Alex Houghton was elected to represent Peartree Ward in 2015 and then re-elected in 2019. He has lived in Southampton all his life, growing up in Bitterne where he attended local schools (Bitterne Manor Primary School and St George Catholic Boys School) and subsequently Southampton University where he graduated in 2013.

From 2005 to 2011, Alex was a member of the Southampton City Youth Parliament and in his work as a councillor he believes in the importance of all parts of Southampton having a voice in council decision making. As well as his work as a ward councillor, since 2015, Alex has been a member of the Council’s Health Scrutiny panel. This has developed his focus on health issues across the city and the council’s important role in improving the health of residents”.
