Teaching

Education is thriving in Southampton. SEF offers support and development programmes to help drive your career.

What other support can you expect from SEF?

As a teacher in a Southampton school or college, you could access subject network meetings, where you will meet colleagues from across the City to share best practice, carry out quality assurance activities and participate in subject-specific CPD. Focusing on key teaching/learning and assessment issues in specific subjects, these networks are friendly and dynamic. There are also TeachMeets for both ECT/RQTs and experienced teachers to enable you to renew and refresh your practice.

SEF's close links to both Southampton universities, the Southampton University School of Education and the Bitterne Park Teaching School mean that you are never far away from development opportunities. In the 2018/19 academic year, SEF has also provided funding for the training of Lead Practitioners across a range of subjects. This expertise will be deployed to support development across the city.
