City centre street cleaning
The city centre street cleansing team works from early morning until late evening seven days a week to keep the city centre clear of litter, fly-tipping, graffiti and spillages.
We aim to sweep the main commuter and shopping routes early in the morning before most people are up and about. This avoids traffic disruption and ensures the city is looking at its best to welcome the day’s commuters, shoppers and tourists.
Throughout the day, our team permanently patrols the city centre’s busiest areas with brooms, litter pickers and barrows to avoid any build-up of litter. Our mobile teams in the wider city centre area provide an immediate response to reports of litter build up, graffiti and fly tipping. We also regularly empty the city centre’s 255 street litter bins.
