Solent Apprenticeship Hub expands its offering

The Solent Apprenticeship Hub, a free and impartial service led by Southampton City Council, is set to expand its support offer.

As of October 2021, the Solent Apprenticeship Hub has been awarded new funding to extend its reach into a broader skills brokerage service, and create the Solent Apprenticeship & Skills Hub.

The new Solent Apprenticeship & Skills Hub is being funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and will work closely with the already established Solent Growth Hub.

In addition to this, the Hub will also take on the regional management of the Low Carbon across the South East (LoCASE) programme for the Solent region with support for digital capability assistance for businesses. This will be an accessible business support programme that helps Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) optimise their use of resources and adopt eco-innovative and low carbon solutions that improve business performance in terms of resilience and profitability.

The pairing of the new Skills Access Hub with the LoCASE programme will form the basis of an integrated business support model working collaboratively with the Solent LEP Growth Hub.
