Fostering information events
We regularly host virtual and in person information events with members of our team, see our upcoming events below.
Come along to one of our fostering pop-up information stalls where the team can explain the process, from application to placement, and answer any questions you might have! Alternatively, we can arrange a face-to-face chat at a time and date to suit you! Call us on 0800 5 191818 or email fostering@southampton.gov.uk to find out more.

Ask 1 Person
We are asking council, education, health and emergency services colleagues to start conversations in the workplace about fostering and to talk with each other about whether they would make a good foster carer.
Could you help a Southampton child? This could be respite care for a weekend or looking after a child for a longer period of time. There has never been a better or more important time to help us find more loving foster homes for children who need them. If we don’t ask, who will?
Becoming a foster carer is subject to an assessment process, but all applications are valued and are treated fairly and respectfully.
You can find out more about fostering with us on our webpages, or if you’ve had a conversation with a colleague and think you have what it takes to make a great foster carer, then please do get in touch with us for an informal chat to find out more.
You can call the team on 0800 5 191818 or by email: fostering@southampton.gov.uk .
