Deferred payments

What is the ‘deferred payments scheme’?

The Care Act 2014 introduced a universal deferred payments scheme so that no one should be forced to sell their home in their lifetime to pay for their social care.

It is designed to help "defer" or delay paying the costs of care and support until a later date.
