Situated in the south east corner of Southampton Common, The Hawthorns Urban Wildlife Centre provides information about Southampton's abundant wildlife and how we manage the city's open spaces to protect and increase biodiversity.
The Hawthorns garden is a sensitive wildlife environment and therefore is only open when staff are on site. We aim to open the garden weekdays between 11am – 3pm and Sundays noon – 4pm if a volunteer is available. However, this is subject to change at short notice.
Aspects of the garden can be viewed from the café terrace.
You can contact the centre by email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 023 8067 1921. Staff are not always available to answer the telephone during the week and not at all at weekends, but if you leave a message we will get back to you as soon as possible.
For information about the café please call 07872 429392
The Centre and cafe are currently closed - Refreshments and toilet facilities are available at the kiosk in the play area, weather permitting.
