Forest Schools Day Camps: Our day camps allow children to experience and enjoy a range of fun activities to help build confidence, self-esteem, independence and give encouragement and support to assess risk. We welcome children between the ages of 4 to 10 years old, but children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

We usually run Forest School day camps during school holidays and half term breaks. Find out about the next Forest Schools day camps and how to book.

If you would like information about future Forest School camps and similar activities, please email hawthorns@southampton.gov.uk

Southampton Common play area consultation results

Orienteering is a fun way to explore Southampton Common. There are three courses to suit all ages and abilities, all starting from outside The Hawthorns Centre. You don't need any special equipment, just download the map and bring a pen or pencil. The course is checked regularly but if you find a control point missing, please let us know.
