With an array of mature trees, play equipment and picnic areas, Cedar Lodge Park provides an attractive open space for local residents. The variety of trees attracts wildlife, especially birds such as goldcrest, great tits and song birds such as blackbirds and thrushes as the evergreen foliage and rough bark, with lots of nooks and crannies for insects, provides excellent shelter a plentiful supply of food. Squirrels can often be seen scampering through the trees. Mature shrub beds surround most of the park and along with areas where the grass is mown less frequently, attract butterflies, bees and other pollinating insects.

Cedar Lodge Park is fully enclosed, making it popular for families with children and people walking their dogs.
