Introduction
Southampton City Council Pest Control and Specialist Cleansing Service has a wealth of experience in providing preventative and corrective solutions in all aspect of pest control and cleansing. The services commonly deals with rodents, insects, bird pests, removal of body fluids and discarded hypodermic syringes for both residential and commercial customers. All our Pest Control Officers hold the Royal Society of Health Certificate in Pest Control and are up to date with regulations and best practice within the pest control industry. This means we use the best professional products and methods to safely and effectively deal with pretty much any pest in your school as humanely as possible.

In our experience, schools and colleges most commonly need our help because of:

- Syringes discarded onto school premises that need to be removed urgently
We can also help with:
- Pigeon proofing, cockroaches, Pharaoh Ants, flies, bedbugs, and squirrels
- Removal and safe disposal of offensive or body fluid waste
We can be flexible to suit your individual needs if, for example, a classroom needs to be sprayed for flea’s late afternoon when students have left for the day. ( If you need us later in the evening or at weekends there is a supplementary charge.) Please see the details in the tables below about each pest and the price structure. Service options and pricing
Annual contracts
A Southampton City Council Annual Pest Control contract provides reassurance that rats, and
mice are effectively and safely being kept under control on the premises and that you are
compliant with your duties under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act and, where you
have catering facilities, The Food Safety Act.
Annual Contracts provide 12 monthly programmed rat control visits to survey site monitor
and replenish, starting with up to ten bait boxes, six additional requested rodent control visits,
four free wasps nests treated a free pigeon proofing survey (saving over £75) and a free visit
to safely remove an unforeseen discarded hypodermic syringe.
Monthly visits are required as a minimum to ensure good stewardship in the use of poisons
and other materials to control pests, but more regular visit can be undertaken if required
under our tailored contract. Each visit you will receive a clear visit report and site map
detailing any activity, actions taken and recommendations. We ensure that baits are
effective and only used when required. Once the contract is arranged, we will schedule in
your monthly visits with you for the year.

Weekends and evening visits after 18.30 carry a £75 surcharge per operative.

Wasps | Commonly seen as an irritation, wasps can prove distressing and distracting in school. A small number of students or staff may be allergic to wasp stings which raises the issue from a nuisance to a risk to health. We can treat the nest safely.
