HAF young ambassadors

Age: 12

I am a great candidate for child ambassador as I am very confident and able to express my opinions and thoughts well. I am always looking to help others and I feel more than capable of gathering other people’s opinions and sharing them as I easily make lots of different friends on the courses. I am part of my school’s council, and I am used to providing feedback and being the voice for other children.

Age: 14

My strong points are:

• Languages – which means I can easily pick up different cultures and could help people who don’t know English too well to be more comfortable and confident living here
• Confidence – meaning I could speak out to a crowd about our beliefs
• Creativity – meaning I could contribute hugely to many projects and activities.

I’m also a part of the (L)GBTQ+ and the Asian community, so I understand how it feels to wrongly stand out from the crowd. I know and believe that I can help people of any race, religion, sexuality, age, and gender to feel comfortable in their own skin, to feel confident and to be proud to stand out from the crowd.

Age: 14

I am respectful to all around me and I am extremely enthusiastic. I put myself out of my comfort zone to make new friends with others attending the programs and to ensure no one is socially isolated. I will commit to this role and inspire others to try new things.

Age: 7

I love to express my ideas to a group and my willingness to always want to get involved has always played in my favour. I am a consistent and sustainable individual who understands what the younger generations want and I have a commitment to making that happen.

Age: 11

I spend a lot of my time speaking for other children in my school who are currently struggling with their mental health. I am a warm and comforting ear, and I am already making a huge impact on children and their parents. I am an inspiring individual who at times, suffers from my own mental health, low self-esteem and self-confidence. Being in this role is helping me grow as an individual and allows me a larger platform to support and help others.

I am keen to engage in activities and put 100% effort in when I do. I am passionate about what I believe in and commit all of my emotions to any task.

Age: 9

I am a bright, inquisitive child who challenges the status quo and I think about different ways to make things better. I am a sympathetic, sensitive soul who loves to share anything I have with others, even if it means halving my own portion. I am a natural-born leader who is inclusive and free from vanity.

Age: 16

I am a good team player and enjoy leading activities. I am a quick learner and apply my analytical skills to all tasks. I really enjoy meeting new people and have good communication skills. I speak two languages, namely English and Punjabi. I help promote the HAF to children all around Southampton and ensure young people's voices are heard. I am very good at public speaking and have delivered a number of speeches for the programme already, in front of crowds of over 100.

Age: 10

I am a brave, confident and happy person. I try new things all of the time and I like helping people. I am always volunteering my time to make the world a better place. I attend things such as beach cleaning, and litter picking sessions to ensure we look after the planet. I like to try to make a difference in everything that I do and being a HAF ambassador allows me to support the children of Southampton.

Age: 9

I always try to be the best I can be and help others around me. I absolutely love coming to these clubs and I am so happy that my mum lets me come every single day to join in on the fun. When new children are unsure about coming in, in the mornings, I always tell them what a great day they will have and try to look after them until they are happy. I really enjoy supporting others and building a great project for children.

Age: 11

I am bright, confident, funny and try my best at everything I do. I have recently been awarded the role of head boy at my school, a role that I feel I will relish. I always put others before myself and love spending time and supporting my younger siblings. I am both a reading and football enthusiast and I feel that I am an excellent role model for my peers and a perfect candidate for this role.
