Family hubs – what's on
We have a variety of activities and learning programmes available across the hubs. This includes stay and play sessions and parent support groups, as well as breastfeeding support groups and dads and male carers play sessions.

Register with your nearest hub
To take part in the activities available in your area you will first need to register. You can do this by completing the registration form. You can also just pop into your local hub. Whether you're a parent to be, a mum, dad, grandparent or carer – whoever you are, you'll be welcomed.

Breastfeeding support SHOW
Breastfeeding support and advice from a breastfeeding network counsellor and peer support.
Bumps and Babies parent support group SHOW
A social support group for new and expectant parents. Play activities designed for babies under one year.

Chatter Matters speech therapy drop-in SHOW
Are you concerned about your child’s speech and not already accessing the speech therapy service?
Pick up an information form from your health visitor, children’s centre or call the speech therapy service: 0300 300 2019.
Bring your completed form with you to a Chatter Matters session and sign up for a 20-minute appointment with a speech therapist.
Sessions are limited to six families per session (seen on a first come basis), families must live within the Southampton City Council boundary or be registered with a GP in the Southampton City Council boundary.
Parent support group SHOW
A support group for mums with non-mobile babies. Includes play, information and socialisation. Booking is essential. Call The Salvation Army on 02380 771655.
Play activities SHOW
Mini soft play: soft play sessions for children under two years
Soft play: Soft play equipment for children under five years to explore. Helps improve mobility and coordination.
Family fun after school: play activities for the family to enjoy together. Suitable for children in year R to year 6. A healthy snack will be provided.
Dads and male carers play session: an opportunity for dads and male carers to play, bond and have fun with their children.
Messy play: Messy fun with paint, gloop, water, sand and more. Dress for mess!
Stay and play: Fun play activities in our playrooms and gardens.
Tots and tunes: Fun with singing, rhymes using actions and musical instruments

Parenting and community learning programmes
We are pleased to be able to offer a range of parenting and community learning programmes. All of our courses are free, and some of the courses will have creches and qualified play workers available.

Book and toy libraries SHOW
Book and toy libraries are available in various centres across the city. For more information please call your local centre.
Advice and support SHOW
Speak with Shendy, our support worker for advice and support on benefits, sourcing household goods and safety in the home advice. Fridays from 8am-4pm. Call 077 4818 1034.
Stepping Stones support SHOW
Play workers offer a small six week rolling play, support and confidence building session for families with social anxieties or behaviour issues. Booking is essential.
The sessions take place at The Ashby Centre, Thursdays 9:30am – 11:30am. To book call 02380 540135.
