Social media peer support

You can keep up to date on infant feeding information, welcome scheme venues, services and events via one of our public social media pages that are hosted by the Breastfeeding Network Peer Supporters & Volunteers or by searching #SotonBreastfeeding

For peer to peer support you can also request to join our closed Facebook group. Here you can get support from other mothers and from trained Breastfeeding Network Volunteers. In turn you can also offer your own support and insights.

Online information

The Healthier Together website has lots of information on infant feeding and all other aspects of health in the early years. At the top of the site you will find ‘Recite Me’ which includes translations in a range of languages and accessibility features for those with visual impairments.

The Baby Friendly Initiative has lots of infant feeding information and research. It includes resources in multiple languages.

National Breastfeeding Helpline

The National Breastfeeding Helpline offers friendly, non-judgemental, independent, evidence based breastfeeding support and information to anyone in the UK who needs it. The helpline is provided by the Breastfeeding Network and the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers and is available 9.30am-9.30pm, 365 days of the year.
