Being a parent is the most important job there is. That's why it's so important for you to be equipped for what's ahead. This checklist aims to provide you with support and advice when bringing up your family. Each link will open in a new tab so the list remains open for you.

1 Tell us about your new baby SHOW

You must register the birth of your baby with us within 42 days of birth. You will also need to tell us about your new baby if you claim Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Reduction, or are currently on the housing register.
