Guidance – season tickets for residents living in the city centre
Any owner occupier or tenant of a qualifying property within the city centre pay and display zone boundary may apply for a resident's season ticket.
The city centre pay and display zone boundary can be viewed as a map or as a list of streets.
Also, your vehicle must not:
- Exceed five metres in length
- Weigh more than 3.5 tonnes
- Be adapted to carry more than eight passengers, excluding the driver (not drawing a trailer)
- Be a motorcycle
How many season tickets can I apply for?
Residents’ season tickets are restricted to a maximum of two per official postal address (one vehicle per application form).
In which car parks can I use this season ticket?
There are two types of season tickets you can apply for:
- A season card (proximity card) can be used in multi-storey car parks (MSCPs) listed in Car park list C
- A paper season ticket can be used in any of our surface car parks listed in Car park list C
There may be a height restriction in some car parks. If your vehicle's height exceeds this restriction, you will need to park in a surface car park or MSCP.
Always check the signs for information about parking restrictions.
Paper season tickets will not allow access to a barrier-controlled car park
If you want your season ticket to apply for one of these facilities, please state which car park you will use and a proximity card will be issued instead. You will not receive a paper season ticket if you choose to use a MSCP.
How much do season tickets cost?
Tickets valid for:
- Six months cost £340
- 12 months cost £650
What happens after I apply?
Please allow five working days for the season ticket to be posted to you. If you need it sooner than this, you can still complete your application online. Once you have submitted and paid for your application, you will to need visit Gateway on the same day to collect your ticket. Please have your application reference number or receipt to hand when you visit.
If you are not able to collect on the same day but do not wish us to post the season ticket, please call the Parking team to let us know. We will hold onto the season ticket until you are ready to collect it.
Lost or damaged season tickets
An administration charge will be made to replace a lost or damaged season ticket.
Refunds
We do not offer refunds for season tickets. The prices given for season tickets are aimed at providing better value when purchased for longer periods. Customers should consider this when purchasing a season ticket.
Warning
Misuse of a season ticket is fraud. We will investigate all reports of the misuse of permits.
Section 115 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act, 1984
Provides penalties for any person who makes a false statement to obtain a season ticket or with intent to deceive, forges, or alters, or uses, or lends to, or allows to be used, or has in their possession any document so closely resembling any such season ticket as to be calculated to deceive.
