Handbook for headteachers and governors
A handbook has been developed to assist headteachers and governors to understand their health and safety responsibilities and is a mandatory pre-read to the headteachers' health and safety courses.
You can also read quick start guides for headteachers and business managers to understand their duties at a glance. They also point to further supporting information and indicate what training is available.
All headteachers in the authority are responsible for ensuring health and safety is effectively managed in their schools. Headteachers are required to complete a self audit annually for their school and to review their actions.
