Council Tax online account help

• Visit the Council Tax account homepage
• Select 'Register Now'
• Complete the form
• Once you have saved a verification email will be sent to your email address (the link in the email will only last for 24 hours)
• Access your email account and select the link in the email from Southampton City Council
• You can then add services to your account
• If you are adding a Council Tax account – you will need to add your account number
• If you are a landlord – you will need to add your creditor number
• Select 'Continue'
• You will be asked security questions relating to your stated account
• If you are unable to answer the security questions you will need to request a PIN by post
• If you have a PIN letter, select I have been sent a PIN letter and enter your PIN
• If you answer the questions successfully, your account is now active to use

If you didn't add a service during the set up, you can add them from the My Services page:

• On the My Services page, add your Council Tax account number (this will be on the top left corner of any bills or reminders you've received)
• At this point, if you have previously requested a PIN, you can enter it here by selecting 'Enter your PIN'
• Select 'Access Now' and you will be taken through to a series of security questions relating to your account
• If you are unable to answer the questions you will need to tick ‘I don’t have enough information to continue’ and select 'Next'
• If your answers to the security questions do not match the database or you ticked ‘I don’t have enough information to continue’, you can request a PIN by selecting 'Send me a PIN'
• The PIN will be issued by post to the address that is held for the given account
• If all the questions are successfully answered a confirmation message will appear
